Friday/Saturday 1/2 July, Glasgow

I will have specific instructions for the transfer from the airport to the hotel later. Activities: You will be provided with a Hop On, Hop Off bus pass which will keep you well entertained. Most of the Glasgow museums are free.

Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast at the Grand Central Hotel

Sunday/Monday/Tuesday 3/4/5 July: Dunkeld

Activities: On our way to Dunkeld we will visit the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. While we are in Dunkeld, we will visit Crannog Centre Loch Tay and the Scottish Deer Centre. There will also be plenty of free time to explore the river and the 280 acres that surround our beautiful hotel.

Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast at the Dunkeld House Hotel

Wednesday/Thursday 6/7 July: Brora

On our way to Brora we will explore Blair Castle and Grounds, and also visit the Highland Folk Museum.
While in Brora, we will visit Dunrobin Castle, including the Falconry. No tour of Scotland would be complete without visiting a distillery. The Clynlish Distillery is only a 5 mins drive from Brora.

Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast at the Royal Marine Hotel

Friday/Saturday 8/9 July: Kirkwall and the Orkney Islands

Today we will head north and take a ferry to the Orkney Islands. While in Kirkwall, we will visit the 5,000 year-old Neolithic village, Skara Brae, and also walk amongst the tall Standing Stones of Stenness. Skara Brae is special, a major reason why a number of BETvets are coming on this tour. Ya gotta see it!

Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast at The Orkney Hotel

Sunday/Monday 10/11 July: Inverness

Today we return to the mainland of Scotland to Inverness. During our time in Inverness,  we will take the Jacobite Cruise of Caladonian Canal and Loch Ness. (Free future BET tour for anyone who takes a certifiable photo of Nessie!) We will also have time to explore the charming town of Inverness–our hotel is conveniently located for easy walking access. On one of our nights we will celebrate 5 July BET birthdays–77, 82 & 83. The hotel has promised to provide a cake with “396” prominently displayed signifying the total number of collective years. I’ve already ordered enough wine and Prosecco for the occasion. Should be fun.

Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at the Best Western Palace Hotel & Spa, Inverness

Tuesday 12 July: Culloden House Hotel

Morning  transfer to  the Culloden House Hotel, a few miles south and east of Inverness where we will spend one night in the lap of luxury.  At the time of the Jacobite uprising in 1745-46, Bonnie Prince Charlie used Culloden House, this hotel, as his lodging and battle headquarters prior to that decisive battle on Culloden Moor. To fully understand the consequences of this battle, we will visit the Culloden Battle Site and Visitors Center. After the visit, we will return to the hotel and bid farewell to our wonderful guide, Andy. Before dinner, we will meet in one of the hotel’s special rooms to perhaps share some Scotch that we may have picked up along the way.

Dinner, Bed, and Breakfast at the  Culloden House

Wednesday 13 July: Fly from Inverness

After a final breakfast, taxi transfers to Inverness Airport for your flight home
