Sunday 3 July: To Dunkeld
Check out and depart hotel in time to reach the Falkirk Wheel before our 10:40 reservation. The boat trip on the wheel and the river takes about 90 minutes. We then visit the Kelpies.followed by lunch on your own in Sterling. Continue on to the Dunkeld House Hotel.

Monday 4 July: Dunkeld
Depart hotel in time for our 10:00A visit of Crannog Centre Loch Tay followed by a pre-arranged lunch nearby (at own expense.) 13:30 visit the Scottish Deer Centre. We will be split into two groups taking turns at the Deer Center and a 4X4 tour of the Perthshire Hills. Late afternoon return to our hotel.

Depart hotel in time for 10:00 visit of Dunrobin Castle, (pictured above) followed by the Falconry display. Return for a Whisky tasting at the Royal Marine hosted by an expert from the Clynelish distillery including a tasting of 14 year old Clynelish Distillery exclusive single malt and Johnnie Walker gold label in the hotel with tutored tasting, history, and time for questions

Today we will visit the 5,000 year-old Neolithic village, Skara Brae, and also walk amongst the tall Standing Stones of Stenness. Skara Brae is special, a major reason why a number of BETvets are coming on this tour. Ya gotta see it!

1030 – Cruise of Loch Ness from Dochgarroch harbour one way to Urquhart Castle. After visit of castle, the coach will pick us up t and take us back to the hotel. . (Free future BET tour for anyone who takes a certifiable photo of Nessie!) We should have time to explore the charming town of Inverness–our hotel is conveniently located for easy walking access. Tonight we will celebrate various July BET birthdays–77, 82 & 83. The hotel has promised to provide a cake with “396” prominently displayed signifying the total number of collective years. I’ve already ordered enough wine and Prosecco for the occasion. Should be fun.

Tuesday 12 July: Culloden House Hotel
Check out and depart hotel for morning transfer to the Culloden House Hotel, a few miles south and east of Inverness where we will spend one night in the lap of luxury. At the time of the Jacobite uprising in 1745-46, Bonnie Prince Charlie used Culloden House, this hotel, as his lodging and battle headquarters prior to that decisive battle on Culloden Moor. To fully understand the consequences of this battle, we will visit the Culloden Battle Site and Visitors Center at 10:30. After the visit, we will return to the hotel and bid farewell to our wonderful guide, Andy. Before dinner, we will meet in one of the hotel’s special rooms to perhaps share some Scotch that we may have picked up along the way.

Wednesday 13 July: Fly from Inverness
At 9:45 be down in the lobby packed and ready to roll at 10:00. Our first stop will be at the Inverness Airport to let off those of us who are on the 12:35 flight to Amsterdam. The coach will then continue on to the Inverness train station. Those of you who are traveling independently will take your luggage now. The rest of you will have time for some shopping and lunch before the coach takes you and your luggage back to the airport in time check in for your 15:40 flight to London Heathrow. End of tour.
